Wrong Fuel in Car in HU11 Postcode - Rise Misfueling

Just had a quality night of uninterrupted sleep! It was 7:00 on a warm Tuesday and I was en route to help an older lovely lady after she had put contaminated fuel in her diesel light blue Range Rover Evoque in Rise. She informed us that she had left the petrol station forecourt and pulled up on a rural lane en route to pay a visit to her grandchildren. I popped the location into the Satnav and arrived inside an hour. I turned up at the vehicle and drained the wrong fuel out of the car. While I was working she explained, "I have been getting somewhat absent-minded in my senior years and did not remember about the car using diesel because I'd only acquired it a short while ago because my previous one, which I'd used for in excess of twenty five years, eventually gave up the ghost". I completed the drain and she gifted me a Murray mint and said thanks. Such a precious East Riding of Yorkshire lady!

We recognise what is crucial to you and consequently are fully covered and authorised for our job. Additionally, our fuel drainers are completely qualified and experienced in dealing with all car models.

Wrong Fuel Assist Rise - Wrong Fuel in Car Rise

I had a fantastic day golfing on my holiday and felt satisfied the next day as I was on the way to aid a young family who were vacationing in Rise. They conked out after filling diesel into their red Chevrolet Suburban, and the car was close to half an hour away. I arrived at their car and laughed to myself as I heard to the girl telling off her man for turning out to be so silly. "Exactly how could you even manage to put the wrong fuel in the vehicle?" she asked him. I tried to explain that this occurs on a regular basis in East Riding of Yorkshire and that it's truly absolutely nothing to worry about, however he in spite of everything got his ear bent. Unlucky chap. Anyway, I extracted the wrong fuel, gave the engine a flush and filled them up with the appropriate fuel. As they drove off I waved so long and pondered on what my wife would do to me if perhaps I did the same thing... I would personally never hear the end of it!

How to find out if I put the wrong fuel in my car?

If you’ve just filled up at a petrol station and the cars starts to act a bit strange you might start to wonder if you accidentally put the wrong fuel in it.

Well, there are a few things to can check that will be able to tell you:

  1. How is the car responding? There are some very common misfuel symptoms which can be a good indicator of wrong fuel:
    • Loss of engine power – can feel like the car has run out of fuel
    • A lot of smoke (more than usual)
    • Engine coughing or starting to splutter
    • Won’t start – or keeps stalling.

If you don’t have the receipt, you can often return to the petrol station where you filled up and give them the date and time (and pump) where you refueled and they will often be able to give you a VAT receipt.
  3. Smell it. Diesel and petrol have very distinctly different smells. Anyone familiar with the motor industry should be able to help you with this. Or you could even get another car to park alongside and smell the fuel caps of both, comparing them to determine what the fuel type is.
